SaaS integrator launches consultancy service

Users hoping to benefit from SaaS services such as Salesforce are to be offered help from a specialist consultancy. SaaSpoint, a Salesforce partner, has set up a consulting arm to make the SaaS migration easier.

The company has also announced that it is to be one of the first European partners for Google Apps in the search giant's attempt to become a major player in the enterprise space.

Colm Mulcahy, CEO of SaaSpoint said that the move had come about as the company was being pressed to assist other companies in implementing SaaS projects.

"So many other consultancies were engaged looking at major changes within the organization. We found that most of them were inexperienced in SaaS and were asking us to help them in their evaluations. We thought that we might as well be the company involved in the consultancy process as that would give our customers fewer firms to deal with."

Mulcahy said that the consulting arm would tackle both technical processes and cultural changes within an organization. He said that a typical technical problem that the company was called to tackle was the integration of Salesforce with the customer's back-end system.

"We've become a European partner for Google Apps; we see this as a very good fit with Salesforce. Google is committing a lot of resources to the launch of Google Apps and we're getting in at the very start," said Mulcahy.

The new consultancy division will eventually employ 50 people and has a target of €10 million by the end of 2010.
